Programme of Study

The MBBS degree programme lasts five years and consists of two Stages: (a) Stage I and (b) Stage II.

Each Stage consists of courses which may comprise lectures, conferences, seminars, tutorials, self study, the use of learning aids (including information technology), practicals and demonstrations. In addition, there are clerkship rotations in Stage II as outlined in the attachment to these Regulations.

The student’s progress in each course is assessed by his or her performance in the combination of assignments and projects and written, practical, clinical and oral examinations, as the cases may be, as provided in these Regulations and as set out in the course descriptions attached to these Regulations.

Each Stage leads to Examinations divided into Parts.

The MBBS degree is awarded at pass level or with honours on the satisfactory completion of the programme.
